Description
The parliament Building in Budapest, Hungary is situated on the banks of the River Danube on the Pest side of the river to offset the Royal Palace which rises high on the other side of the river. The construction of this 'modern architectural wonder' began in 1884 by the architect Imre Steindl who was inspired by London's House of parliament. the original plan was to have the Parliament Building ready for the Millennium of Hungary's 1000th anniversary in 1896 but it was not completed and opened until 1902.
